RAYMARINE EV-400 Power Autopilot - Excludes Drive Unit
Raymarine's Evolution Autopilots integrate advanced aerospace guidance technology with the brand's extensive marine autopilot expertise, delivering precise and accurate autopilot control. Unlike traditional systems, Evolution eliminates the need for a setup compass swing or calibration, offering easy installation without the necessity of adjusting to the specific boat. The Evolution system employs Evolution AI™ control algorithms, allowing the autopilots to perceive their environment, calculate steering commands, and evolve instantly for optimal performance, ensuring confident course-keeping under various conditions.
At the core of the Evolution system are the ultra-compact EV sensor core, a nine-axis heading sensor and a full-function course computer. Its compact size, similar to a typical marine GPS sensor, enables bracket or flush mounting horizontally above or below the deck. The EV sensor core utilizes SeaTalkng cabling for a single power and data connection to the SeaTalkng bus, connecting to the Actuator Control Unit (ACU) for power and signal distribution to a Raymarine hydraulic or mechanical autopilot drive system.
Autopilot control is facilitated through the p70R control head, making setup quick and easy. Evolution Autopilots offer a straightforward 30-second setup process, allowing users to select the boat type (large power, small power, or sail), drive type (hydraulic, mechanical, or outboard), and performance level (performance, cruise, or leisure).
It's important to note that when sizing an Evolution system for a boat, the fully laden displacement weight should be considered. The Evolution Autopilots communicate via SeaTalkng, and a SeaTalkng to NMEA Converter Kit (E22158) may be required for older Raymarine or non-Raymarine displays. Additionally, Raymarine software version 1.21 is a minimum requirement.
The EV-400 Power model is specifically designed for large-size powerboats using a Type 2 or Type 3 hydraulic drive unit, with the hydraulic drive unit sold separately.
